The Summerleaze Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new paintings,
sculpture and prints by Christopher Riisager that will be on view from 16 February - 28 February 2010.
This fourth exhibition of work by Christopher Riisager to be organised by Summerleaze will focus on the
full range of Christopher's extraordinary scope as an artist. In addition to a group of subtle and
serene paintings of both French and English landscapes, there will be a series of new figurative and
still life subjects. All of the paintings reveal the artist's superb handling of colour and light, as
well as his ability to capture a seemingly ageless moment in time.
But this exhibition will importantly feature a full view of Christopher's sculpture, both three-dimensional
and a more recent venture into sculptural reliefs. Here again there is present a sense of grace and elegance
that reflect a unique view of the figure, as well as a rare and slightly eccentric quality of composition and surface.
Also included will be a group of prints in very limited editions. These will include both etchings of landscapes
and regional landmarks, as well as a series of embossed paper pieces that relate to the sculptural reliefs - again
exhibiting the artist's special talent to explore ideas in myriad ways and to exhibit an impressive command over a
range of materials.
We feel this exhibition will, for the first time, fully reveal the remarkable multifaceted talents of one of the region's foremost artists.
