About The Summerleaze Gallery

Summerleaze is situated in an exceptionally peaceful and beautiful corner of Wiltshire, yet within easy reach of London by road or rail (we are happy to meet anyone from a train at Tisbury). The studio is a converted farm building and the whole situation is good for learning and relaxation. Accommodation can be arranged in the nearby farmhouse. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed and the food mostly produced in the garden or farm.

We continue our close links with the NEAC which we value enormously. We keep the size of classes small which makes most of them suitable for all levels of ability, however a few of them require some experience and we make this clear in the description. If you would like more information or help in choosing, do telephone us.

The new gallery has made a huge differnce to life at Summerleaze. The extra space the light have been much enjoyed by all those attending courses and lectures. It has also proved an excellent exhibition space for contemporary painters and sculptors. Last autumn there was a joint exhibition of Paul MacDermot and Mark Coreth in early December.

The current exhibition is:
"Four Young Artists"
Chloe Cardozo Alex Cree Tim Mann Jemma Phipps
12 - 23 November 2008
An exciting exhibition of four young artists who all have their roots in Wiltshire or Dorset. CHLOE CARDOZO studied at the Bellas Artes in Seville and now lives and works from Summerleaze. ALEX CREE gained a 1st class degree in Fine Art from Canterbury Christchurch University College and now works for the Prince of Wales Drawing School in London. TIM MANN gained a degree in fine art from the University of the West of England and now works from his studio in Bowerchalke. JEMMA PHIPPS attended the Charles Cecil Studios in Florence and is a painter of portraits and dogs and works from her studio in London undertaking private commissions.
